Update: In January the Government announced that it would be bringing forward legislation to prevent the burning of heather and other vegetation on protected blanket bog habitats. This is a huge win for campaigners, but doesn’t go nearly far enough to ensure burning is banned on all peatlands. You can read more about the campaign below.
