Olivia Blake Member of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam
I am pleased to announce that King Edward VII school has now had its forced academisation order revoked. This is a huge testament to the hard work of teachers, parents and pupils.
Following the news of the school achieving “good” in all areas in its latest Ofsted report earlier this year, I coordinated Sheffield MPs to write to the Minister to ask that she revoke the academisation order immediately. You can read more here. I also raised the issue in the Public Accounts Committee and asked officials from the Department of Education to fix the process so schools have clarity of how academisation orders can be reversed. You can watch the clip below.
Despite achieving "good" in all areas in its latest Ofsted report, King Edward VII school in Sheffield still has the threat of academisation hanging over them.
