I am honoured to have been awarded best ‘MP Constituency Champion’ in the national Green Heart Hero Awards.

But I think the praise actually needs to be reflected back to my constituents in Hallam, because it was their ideas that formed the Hallam Citizens’ Climate Manifesto, which sets out a vision for a greener future locally and nationally.

The climate crisis needs everyone’s voices to be heard and acted on. My constituents told me they want climate justice to be at the heart of my work, which is what I’ve tried to do throughout my time in Parliament, fighting for protections for local peatlands, an increase in low-carbon transportation, and the restoration of our natural environment.

I’m proud to represent a constituency that is leading efforts to tackle the climate crisis.
