Louise Haigh, Paul Blomfield and I have just been told that a decision will be made about our revised bid to restore rail services to the Sheaf Valley in the summer.

Sustainable transportation is so important, especially with our net-zero commitments. Our proposal would provide the people of South & South West Sheffield low-carbon links to the city centre, Manchester, Leeds, and the Peak District National Park. Levelling-up must help our communities to meet the challenge of the climate crisis.

We look forward to receiving a response to our proposal and hope to meet with the Minister to make the case for a transport revolution for Sheffield. In the meantime we will continue to work with local stakeholders and community organisations to add pressure to the bid.

You can find out more about the original bid here.
