Ahead of the national day of action this weekend, I joined Sheffield groups in signing an open letter against the dangerous police crackdown bill. You can read the open letter here.

The Government’s new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill is not only an attack on our democracy, curtailing our fundamental right to protest, it also criminalises the already discriminated against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community, and does more to protect statues than women.

It has been amazing to see so many groups in our city come together united against this Bill. If you’ve not already – please get involved in the campaign. We must build a movement in our city and across the country to stop this draconian, dangerous and discriminatory legislation!
