During a debate in Parliament this week, on Government support during the pandemic,  I shared the story of my recently self employed constituent, Peter, who was ineligible for support and has been left unable to make ends meet.

I also spoke about the repercussions of the Government’s on-again off-again furlough scheme. Many of my constituents were made redundant because the Government told employers that the furlough scheme would end in October. And now, like Groundhog Day, we’re going through the same process.

I called on the Government to urgently fix the gaps in support. You can watch the full speech below.
