Olivia Blake Member of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam
On Friday 11th September I wrote to Matt Hancock asking him to review support arrangements for those who suffer a miscarriage during the covid-19 crisis.
The rules on hospital visitors currently state that people who have had a miscarriage must attend their scans and after care appointments alone. To lose a pregnancy is a deeply traumatising event for the person who miscarries, their partner and their families. To ask someone to go through this devastating process alone with no support from a friend or loved one risks making an emotionally difficult situation even worse.
