Our NHS needs more funding and it needs more nurses and more doctors if patients are going to receive the care they need. Labour will deliver that.
Labour created the National Health Service, and it is our proudest achievement. To provide universal healthcare for all, based on need and free at the point of use is so admirable.

“I’m from an NHS family. My grandad led the first team to use kidney dialysis in the UK. My grandma worked as a doctor treating women and children in the most deprived parts of post-war Bradford. They inspired me to study science and drove my passion for tackling health
inequality.
“We see the problems of inequality starkly in Sheffield. It’s appalling that life expectancy falls by 11 years as you journey on the 83 bus from Hallam to Brightside. Addressing this will take courage and determination, but it’s the right thing to do.
“We need proper funding and integration between health and social care. The consequences of Lib Dem complicity in government were NHS ‘reform’ based on competition and cuts, rather than cooperation and integration.”
