We must urgently address the perilous state of our climate. Along with the immediate threat of Brexit, our environment represents the biggest challenge we face.
The next MP for Sheffield Hallam must be ready to act urgently.
Our air is killing us, our oceans are used as dumping grounds, and our forests, green belt, national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty are under threat. And while the Amazon burns, Boris Johnson chose to spend his first month in office cosying up to climate change-denier Donald Trump.
Labour is the only party with a serious plan to tackle these threats. Our Green Industrial Revolution will create new jobs, boost the economy and help save our planet. We will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by investing in cleaner, cheaper energy for homes and work places.
Labour’s plan will prioritise the creation of green jobs and make our economy carbon neutral. We will fund renewable energy by investing in solar panels on millions of homes to tackle fuel poverty. And crucially, we will work across the world to secure international cooperation taking action against climate change.
